Silverthorn Symphonic Winds

SSW flyer Nov 24 web-1

Silverthorn Symphonic Winds brings together both professionally trained musicians and highly accomplished amateurs of all ages who share a love of wind ensemble music and a desire to achieve performance excellence.

Musically, we present an eclectic mix of excellent wind ensemble repertoire with roots founded in the English concert band tradition.
Historically, our namesake, Thomas Silverthorn, was a United Empire Loyalist whose grandson, Aaron Silverthorn, fought in the War of 1812.
Socially, we have an active community outreach program helping youth and performing approximately ten concerts per year.

We are currently looking for the following instrumentalists on a permanent basis:
Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Oboe, Bassoon, French Horn, Trumpet, Baritone Sax, Tuba, & Percussion. For more information about current openings, please contact our membership coordinator Sandra Ignaciuk: membership@silverthornsymphonicwinds.ca

Our next performance is ‘Spring Celebration’ – Saturday May 26 at 7:30pm, at the Wilmar Heights Events Centre.
